On-campus Parking
In the past, most workshop participants have chosen to stay at MSU's Owen Graduate Center. All housing arrangements for Owen must be made through the CLEAR office. Other participants may prefer to make their own arrangements and stay at other accommodations near MSU's campus.
Owen Graduate Center (on MSU campus)
This is a student residence hall. Reservations for workshop participants must be made through the CLEAR office by sending an email to clear@msu.edu or calling 517.432.2286 no later than June 28, 2013.
Some hotels offer an MSU rate. When making your reservations, be sure to ask for any MSU applicable discounts. The prices listed above are subject to change depending on weekdays vs. weekends, special events, etc.
CLEAR encourages all workshop participants to make their reservations early due to special events.

Visitors staying at Owen Hall should use metered (check meterhead for hours of operation) parking spots while you unload and check-in. Then you will need to drive your car to parking lot #91. Parking lot #91 is located on the corner of Hagadorn Road and Service Road. This is a free parking lot during the summer; no parking permit is required. It is about a 20-minute walk back to Owen. There is also a bus that goes by there every day except Sunday. The route number is #23, and the cost is $1.25. You will need to get off at the CATA Transportation Center on Shaw Lane. Owen Hall is just a short walk from the bus stop. Bus schedules can be found at: http://www.cata.org or by calling 517.394.1000.
Parking near Owen is limited to special circumstances (i.e., disabled parking). There are accessible spaces located near Owen; however, they may already be in use when you arrive. Contact CLEAR before arriving on campus if you feel you have a special circumstance.

The closest visitor parking lot to Wells Hall is the Visitor and Commuter Parking lot #79. The entrance to lot #79 is off of Shaw Lane. Park in the east section of the lot, then head east and walk across Red Cedar Road to Wells Hall. The daily charge for parking here is $.80 cents per half hour or portion thereof, or you can buy a conference parking permit directly from the MSU Parking Office for $10.50 for two days to a week (best option for CLEAR workshop participants) or $39.50/month for July. You must park in lots #62W or #79 with this permit. Please let the Parking Office know you are here for a conference for CLEAR when buying your permit. The Parking Office is located at 1120 Red Cedar Road, just west of the Communication Arts and Sciences building. You can call 517.355.8440 to get automated voice directions to their building. The MSU Parking Office is open from 7:30 AM to 4:45 PM, Monday-Friday (except University holidays or if otherwise posted).
There are also several free parking lots this summer on campus. They are lots #75, #83, #89 and #91. Lot #75 is the second lot West of the Breslin Center off of Kalamazoo Street. It is about a 20-25 minute walk to Wells Hall.
